Supporting Local Schools

Mercian Educational Trust is very proud of the wide range of opportunities that are available to our schools and pupils. We believe these opportunities prepare and empower our communities to thrive in an ever-changing world.

To help us provide these opportunities we ask parents, carers and the local community to consider supporting us.

Share a Story

This Christmas, Share a Story.

This Christmas, instead of traditional gifts, let’s give a gift that lasts a lifetime!

Donate and buy a book for Great Malvern Primary School's Key Stage 2 library and help inspire a love for reading in our children.

Join us in making a difference!

Together, we can create a world of stories for our pupils!

Easyfundraising means that you can raise free donations for our pupils every time you shop online.

Over 7,000 brands will donate to us when you use easyfundraising to shop with them – at no extra cost to yourself!

These donations quickly mount up and make a BIG difference to our schools, and pupils. We would appreciate it if you could take a moment to sign up and support us. It’s completely FREE and only takes a moment.

Volunteering Opportunities

We have a number of volunteer opportunities to support the trust.

Employee and Individual Volunteer Opportunities

Various volunteer roles are available within our trust including:

  • Sharing your knowledge on a curriculum subject: Volunteers share their professional skills to educate and inspire children. For example, a doctor might teach pupils about healthy living or give them a specialist perspective on a specific subject.
  • Listening or reading to children: Reading is a vital skill for pupils and helping them with it makes a difference in their future educational achievements. Often, volunteers read and listen to children.
  • Joining the governors or trustees: Trustees or governors support the trust's leadership and need a diverse board to function better. They participate in strategic planning, monitor the school's progress, oversee finances and meet with the headteacher to account for school resources.
  • Volunteering for parent-teacher association members: The parent-teacher association is a group of volunteer parents and teachers who improve various aspects of schools to make them a better place to learn. For example, they raise funds to spend on things outside the school budget, such as special events or equipment.
  • Planning and coordinating events and school productions
  • Improving the school's physical environment and appearance: We also have volunteering opportunities for maintenance and may accept creative solutions or projects. For example, volunteers may plant vegetables to launch a school garden, paint the schools or do maintenance work such as repairs.
